I'm no Martha Stewart, but these things in my house were driving me bananas (and that's hard to do because I'm ALREADY nuts!) My kitchen table and my IKEA shelves. You will have to wait for another post for my kitchen table, because I can't find my "after" shot, but let me tell you, it's 100000 times better than the before shot! So, for today I will debut my new IKEA- turned - Pottery Barn Shelves. Some people laughed (tim holloway) and said that it would look like I painted some cardboard (tim holloway) and then put it up, but I think it turned out pretty freakin' cute, if I do say so myself. And really, as long as I like it, and Chris and I didn't get divorced over it, then I consider it a success!! (now, I'm sure if this project last longer than it did.. Chris and I eventually would have been divorced.. but luckily, I finished it up in time for my Dad's 60th party at my house!!)
The nasty before shot. Didn't intentionally take a before shot.. so this one is a wee bit tilted....
and now, the after shot:
I have rearranged the "decor" on it, so it looks even better than in the picture, but I'm pretty happy with the outcome!! A little bead board (one word, or two??), paint, and 30.00 later, a new shelf! Woo-hoo!! Can't wait to post the table! Gotta go "fluffy" (our new dog.. don't worry, she was "free" on the side of the road, just peed on the floor. She is really cute though 6 weeks old, terrier, lab mix.. way cute, but getting ahead of myself.. shocker, that's another post..)
