Well, I haven't blogged in a LONG time, so what better time to get back in the groove than when I'm babysitting three more kids?? Shhhh.. don't tell Molly! We have been very busy lately. During Spring Break we had a ton of fun with Chris's parents and Michelle (his sister) and Ronnie (a cousin). We went to the rodeo and zoo, and just had fun hanging out, but our MAC isn't working properly, so I can't download any pictures from a CD (shocker...) so that post will have to wait. We just got back from SeaWorld!! We had a BLAST!! Chris is FINALLY out of busy season, and his work gave him Friday and Monday off, so we figured with the BEAUTIFUL weather we had been getting, what better time to go??? Well, it rained... and POURED while we were there. Bummer! I mean there were Flood Advisory in effect because all the rivers were over their banks... LOVELY!!! We wanted to GO to SeaWorld, not have the animals swim to us! Oh well. The hotel we stayed at was really funny. We were greeted with these signs:
Apparently you can only park in certain places
if you have a high efficiency car. Yes, that makes sense, you can park CLOSER to the
door so you don't DRIVE as much... oh, o.k.
WHAT??? you aren't going to change my sheets everyday and if you DO, then
I'm making the choice to ruin the environment??? NIIIICE
...and my favorite... this one TELLS YOU HOW TO FREAKIN' FLUSH THE TOILET!!!
Seriously!!!!?????
As you most know, I'm not very GREEN.. more like Purple.. or brown.. Not that I DON'T care about the environment, I just like to flush the way I want and park where I want.. not asking for too much people!!
Anyways we get to our "green" hotel, and luckily the skies cleared enough where the kids could go swimming! They were so excited!! Can't you tell??
I guess this is what a "green" pool looks like...
Sweet Boosie
Sometimes they can get along!!
Crazy Kate...
When did he grow up??
So, we went swimming and went to eat, and then went to bed, eagerly awaiting SEAWORLD!!! ... until we woke up to another monsoon!!!
It rained all morning, and finally stopped raining (didn't clear up, just sprinkling..) so we went about 1:00 - 6:00.
In that time period the sun came out.. for about 30 minutes, and quickly went back behind the clouds and clouded up for another storm. In that time, we got to feed Dolphins (well.. Chris bought the food, handed the food to the kids, then they gave him the food back and Chris fed the dolphins....). It was really cool to be able to pet a dolphin and be right there with them. Amazing animals!!
So cute. I think Noah didn't know what to think of these huge animals jumping and dancing. Kate really liked it. And what would a trip to SeaWorld be without seeing SHAMU??? It was amazing. We saw the new baby Shamu swim next to her mama, so sweet. Shamu gives me chill bumps. Such an amazing creature, and so huge! Chris was just relieved they didn't decide to eat any trainers while we were there... seriously!
We also saw penguins and sharks. Kate road a rollercoaster and LOVED it!!! Noah said that he didn't want to ride that "baby ride" because "it went too slow".
He's going to wait until next year when he is big enough for "steel eel"... oh, o.k... I'll hold you to that one, honey! That evening we were going to try to go to the River Walk, but Hurricane SHAMU came through again, so we went the next morning.
We road the boat ride, which I have to say, was worth the money. It was a thirty minute ride and pretty informative. All in all it was a successful trip. We were able to buy much needed umbrellas, and still got to see most of seaworld! Our tickets that we got are for an entire year, so who knows, maybe we will go again.... when it's not flooding. I'll leave you with some more pictures, because I think my kids are cute...
