Drag queen

Yeah, so the other day I'm washing dishes.. (well I let the girls help me at first, as you will see in the pictures, but then after bubbles got everywhere and I was envisioning being in a houseful of bubbles, albeit better than baby powder.. but still.. I decided to let them play and finish the dishes myself)

and I notice that I'm sure getting a lot done.. and that's NEVER good. You see, at the Surface household it doesn't mean that the kids are being well-behaved sitting down reading the Bible or watching a wholesome show. Me getting a lot done around the house always, ALWAYS means something is going down upstairs. I abruptly stop what I was doing and make a beeline upstairs. Kate comes running out of my bedroom and yells "LOOK AT KARA!!!!!" Well--that's ALL she had to say, I knew that freak got in my make up.. again. after all, we don't call her "Texas Tornado" for nothin'! So I quickly yell, KAAAARRRRRRAAAAAAAAA JOOYYYYYYYYCE!!!!!!! As soon as I yell her name I hear her gasp and her little feet pitter patter all the way in to my closet and then I hear the closet door slam shut. I walk quite loudly to my closet to make sure she knows I'm mad and I'm coming. I yell her name one more time (for dramatic affect-- or is it effect??) and slide open the closet door as fast as I can. I see her in there hiding her face and squating. I start yelling who knows what to which she keeps saying "dahdee mommy" (sorry mommy) "vuv voo mommy" (love you mommy) and I think I almost have her in tears and then she sees it.. her way out....a tiny shiny silver thing I have hiding behind my back. She quickly swallows those almost tears and puts on a BIG BRIGHT CHEESY SMILE and yells "TEEEEEEEEEEEEESE!!!!!!". She was right.. I had a camera. Next time, don't bring the camera when she is getting in trouble, that comes AFTER the punishment... idiot.

So cute! Love it. Stories of Kara always make me think of Violet.

Ha! Our house is the same....a few days ago Dean and I were downstairs hearing the boys laugh and play upstairs, thinking they were just playing great together (for once!). But ten minutes later Grant came down making some comment about Scooter (our cat) going poopy. Sure enough, they had cornered her in the closet and they were having a great time while she got so scared that she pooped all over the place.

But yes, it's always good to have the camera in times like that. She does look super cute!
