It's True!!

It's so true, I DO have a husband!!  I'm not a single mother!  I was getting worried there for a while.  As most of you know Chris quit his "slave-driving" "sweat-shop" job at PriceWaterhouse Coopers (if you know ANYONE who is going to work there.. STOP THEM.. unless it's an enemy or someone you can't stand....) and got a new job at this place called Margolis Phipps and Wright CPA firm.  They said the work weeks are only 40 hours (compared to the 80 hours at PWC) and when you DO have to work overtime they ACTUALLY PAY YOU OVERTIME!!  Can you believe that??  I KNOW.. IT'S SHOCKING!!  Anyways, he started Monday and so far he has been home at 5 every evening.  I seriously don't know what to do!!!  I have help with dinner, bath, and bed.  I'm so excited!! The trade off is that I actually should have a meal planned at least most nights now that he is going to be home.  So far, so good.. I have cooked every night this week.  I'm so proud of myself!  I will take that trade off in a heart-beat.  He has to leave at 5:30 am to get there at a decent hour so he can get home at a decent hour.  It's worth it.. at least for me, and we all know that is what matters!! haha.

So the other night Chris and I actually went on a date.  We haven't gone on a date in FOR-EH-VER.  Mostly for the fact that he was always at work (saturdays and sundays, too.. i'm telling you SLAVE-DRIVERS...)  So anyways.. the "head-hunter" he used (because apparently ALL the people use those these days.. who knew) makes a fortune when they place a worker (chris) to a job (cpa firm).  Apparently this guy made 20,000+ off placing my husband in a new job.  BUT it paid off for us, because he has a new firm, new job, and we got a FANCY meal.  He paid for us to go eat at this place called Del Frisco's.  It's some fancy shmancy place in the galleria right beside the cheesecake factory.  He called ahead and made reservations and gave them his CC number and said to us.. ORDER ANYTHING YOU WANT.  WOO-HOO.  I soooo took advantage.  I got a filet mignon for 45.00!  and Chris's steak was like 50.00.  We got appetizers, dessert, salad, steak... I'm sure this meal cost him a fortune, but it was so fun not having to worry about the price of things!  This steak was Fabulous.  seriously.  fabulous.  it melted in my mouth.  no lie.  fabulous.  I ate all but 2 bites of a 12 oz filet.  It was fabulous.. have I said that yet?  TAKE THAT PWC.. WHO NEEDS YOU!  

I'm so glad that Chris is joining our family now.  I think it will be a shock for him to realize that since he has been at PWC we had 3 kids.  We will have to do formal introductions, and slowly work him in to our family, but I think if we try hard enough, the kids will accept him.  No, really, the kids are loving going outside now and waiting on Daddy to get home.  We finally have a "normal" family life (well, as normal as it can be when I'm the wife/mom.. which most of the time is not normal.. but that's o.k. I take pills....love me some zoloft!... shout out to you mom.. !)

I would also like to take the time to thank my parents and Chris's parents for all the help they gave us while chris was working 24/7.  It made him feel better knowing that I could rely on y'all

to help when I needed it.  All the nights you guys gave me sanity by having us over for dinner, babysit so I could go out and play bunco, or helping take the kids swimming.  We are truly blessed having you guys to help us out.  BUUUUUUT  don't go thinking you are off the hook.. we will still "use" you when needed....  

I'm going to post the picture of us on date night.  I RARELY will post a picture of me.. just for the fact that I despise emensley (i know the spelling is wrong, but my dad never let me say HATE.. i had to say "despise emensley" instead.. which leads me to the thought of I could burp outloud make hand puppets at church, but could not say HATE or put my elbows on the table..BUUUUUUT my dad is a whole other post in and of itself.. oh what a fun post that shall be.  I could talk about.... wait a minute, I'm getting off topic...) how I look.  But I will post it anyway just to prove we really went out.

There it is folks...  luckily it's small enough so you can't see my crooked smile, or chunky cheeks, or crooked eyes.. but I just told you all of that...
