First off, before I start writing about Christmas, I have to give props to Cristi Gerecke. Cristi-- seriously, how in the heck have you been able to blog EVERY DAY OF DECEMBER?? I love, love, love reading your post and I am glad you are posting every day, but how?? This is just my second day in a row, and I'm tired!! I feel like my "word-blogging- genius" is all out the window, and this will be such a mundane post! Anyways, GOOD JOB GIRL!!
BACK TO CHRISTMAS! So Christmas morning the kids wake up to see what Santa brought them. Noah was, of course, nervous about Santa coming through the chimney, and landing on our candles without breaking them, then crawling through the fireplace cover, and how he got back up.. anyways, after a nice conversation.. we got to the presents. Noah got a projector that has space pics, a spiderman watch, star wars legos, binoculars, etc. Here he is with his spiderman watch. He cracks me up!
Kate was so excited! She got a remote control "my little pony" and a "pink nincess bike". She loves the bike, and thinks it is shiny! She can't really get how to peddle it though. We keep trying to tell her to pedal just like her tricycle, but she just doesn't get it.. oh well, one day.. we still hold out hope. I think she probably does understand, but she just loves the fact that we will run beside her and push it.. she's not dumb. Anyways, here she is on her new nincess bike.
Kara was even pumped for the "Santa visit". She got some plugs, and socks, and a musical ring-stacker. She LOVED it. She is so excited to have toys-sad, I know. She IS the third, and after the other two (who really didn't like playing with baby toys-at all...) I decided not to invest.. after all, she wouldn't play with them! WRONG! POOR girl.. she wants some toys! Santa to the rescue (along w/ grandparents and aunts and uncles!!) Anyways, here she is with her ring stacker--I love this pic!
After we play with all our Santa presents, we pack up and head to the Surface's house. It is always fun to be around everyone, and we get to visit with all the family that we really don't get to see a lot, due to busy schedules! We hang out with just the immediate family at first (memaw, pawpaw, aunt shelly and uncle deke). We had a blast. We opened gifts, and ate a Mexican Christmas feast. From Enchiladas to the beer beans (hehe.. you know I kept talking about those!!.. sorry guys!) it was wonderful. The food is always so GREAT there!! It beats Luby's "home cooking" anyday.. (sorry mom!!). After we ate, the kids played with their Aunt and Uncle. They always have a BLAST playing with Aunt Shelly and Uncle Deke.. and can usually talk them in to ANYTHING.....
this was their "silly face" picture...
Aunt Shelly and Kate dancing.. so sweet!!!
Uncle Deke pushing Kate- Told you that she just "uses" us!!
thanks for playing with them.. ALL day!! :)
While aunt Shelly and Uncle Deke were occupying the older two, the grandparents got to hold, cuddle, and squeeze on Kara. I don't know if I just have a thing of forgetting to take pics. of the grandparents.. but don't really have any of CHRIS'S parent's playing/ holding either! (don't take it personally.. my parents aren't in the Christmas Eve pics... Where IS my brain?? oh yeah, don't have one... do they make pills to help you get back your brain after having babies?? If so.. that's what I want for Christmas next year!!)
After we have time together, the rest of the family comes. That includes Grandma and Grandpa Miller, Grandma Surface, and Aunt Marta. Usually there are a lot more, but some people I guess just didn't want to join in our fun this year... I'm holding grudges people!! (j/k.. I GUESS they had valid excuses!) Grandma Miller got a new ring from Grandpa this year.. I think my little Kara was going to steel it.. she was SO FASCINATED by it!!
