OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH

Since I don't have any pics.  I am going to throw in some pictures that I found that goes with the post.. enjoy!

It ALL started when Noah threw himself on his bed at midnight and screamed, "OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

                                                                                     081024-022516-498042.html.jpg

Chris and I go in there and he goes on and on about his throat hurting and how he can't breath.  He yells, "I NEED MY BREATHING MACHINE"  (which is a freakin' humidifier.  seriously.  humidifier).  I take his temp and he doesn't have a fever, and he refused tylenol so what's a mom to do??  Honestly, I can only be sympathetic so long, but if you refuse medicine.. STOP COMPLAINING!!!  (aren't I nice??).  Anyways, he continues to grab his throat screaming that his throat is big and no air is getting through.  I become concerned, but his lymph nodes don't feel swollen..  either do his adnoids.  Chris was finally able to get the freakin' Tylenol down.  I don't know how he does it, but he is able to get him to take his meds.  Maybe because he doesn't start yelling at him to "TAKE THE MEDICINE...  IT WILL HELP YOU FREAKIN' FEEL BETTER.  WHY WON'T YOU TAKE IT??  ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IT SWALLOW??  TAKE THE MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDS!!!"

                                                                                                 0511-0811-0415-3736.html.jpg

O.k.., maybe I'm not THAT mean, but I probably come close.  All freakin' daddy has to do is say, "c'mon buddy, drink the meds."  So unfair.  I give birth.  I feed him.  (most of the time... be quiet meems!).  I bath him.  I, I, I, I, I... (notice a pattern?)  So why won't he take it for me??  oh well.  At least he took it.

                                                                                               090414-154123-445052.html.jpg

That next morning, we decided to take Noah in to the walk-in hours from 8-9 at the pediatric office.  Since Chris and I were both thinking that Noah was really sick, and Kate had a cough, he decided to take the day off of work to help me.. I was so grateful (so were the grandparents, I'm sure!!).  We decided to go ahead and get the girls checked out, too.  Just in case they might be getting the beginnings of this AWFUL virus that Noah had.  After all, It might just be PIG FLU!

                                                                                                 0001-0208-3118-1038.html.jpg

(bum, bum, bum, bum...) --It also doesn't help that I taught them to say "oink" after they coughed.  Funny at home.  Strange looks when out in public.--Anyways, back to the doctors office.  We got in and the Dr. first looked at Kara since that was the first chart she had.  She listened to her and said she sounded like she had "junk" in her chest.  Breathing treatments.  Check.  Done a lot of times with her.  Then she looked in her right ear.  ear infections.  Looked in her left hear.  Worse ear infection.  Prescribed antibiotics.  move on.

                                                                                                0511-0712-2816-5549.html.jpg

Next up, Kate:  Ears look good.  Check.  Listened to her chest.  Not so good.  She is wheezy and has bronchitis or pneumonia "whichever I prefer to call it" she says.  What doctor says that??  anyways.  Breathing treatments.  check.  Already doing them for Kara.  Antibiotics.  Check.  Although not amoxicillin.  She's allergic.  She is prescribed Zythromax.  Next up, Noah.  Ears fine.  Throat, not swollen, slightly red.  Chest. fine.  Yes, FINE, FINE, FINE, FINE.  WTH???  The girls were sick and I didn't know it.  Meanwhile OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOSH boy is fine???  I choose to believe he had strep throat, or the PIG FLU (what mom says that about their child???)  and the doctor just didn't catch it.  I do not have a drama king boy.  I do not.  I do not.  I do not.
Anyways, life went a little smoother for a couple of days.  Then comes Saturday.  The older two are fine.  Kara screams, screams, screams, screams... ALL DAY and ALLLLLL NIGHT.  I mean ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL night.  So Sunday morning comes around and we can't take it anymore.  I took her to the urgent care by my house.  The doctor said she had both her eardrums about to burst.  LOVELY!!!  (and I was actually keeping up with her antibiotics.  so unlike me.)  So she gave her a shot of antibiotics and wanted her back the next day.  She kept screaming all evening.  It didn't seem to help at all.  I called my friend, Pam, and she had numbing drops for ears.  At 10 o'clock at night, I head over to her house, with Kara in tow.  She wasn't sleeping, just screaming, so I thought a car ride might be good for her.  Anyways, the numbing drops did get us though the night.  Thank you so much, Pam!  I took her the next day and the doctor said, "I'm surprised she made it through the night w/o her ears bursting.  Gee thanks!  Now you tell me.  Freakin' doctor.  She said that the ears didn't really get any better, so she gave her ANOTHER shot and wanted her back tomorrow (which was today.... and don't get me started on a phrase my grandpa always tells me.. "There is no tomorrow, there was no yesterday, only today..."  still drives me crazy..  almost as bad as the fight my family has about whether we are IN the earth or ON TOP of the earth.  My poor family has no clue.  We are DEFINITELY IN the earth.  After all there is even an argument with the scientist about how long it exactly takes for the space shuttle to get IN space.  So therefore, they have to get OUT of the earth, which would make us IN the earth...  poor family, they have no clue.  Where was I??)
SO we went back today and her ears made much improvement so now she has been "downgraded" to oral antibiotics and we don't have to go back.  THANK GOODNESS!!!  Hopefully we will be better for a few weeks!!  We have a reunion to go to, so I hope they stay well!!!  I wanted to leave you guys with a few things you NEVER want to hear in the doctors office while WAITING on the doctor:

*  They baby in that room has an ear infection and needs a shot.  What should I do??  (this was a doctor filling in for Kara because HER DOCTOR WAS LATE (this isn't her usual doctor, this was the one in urgent care)

*  I don't know WHAT she is doing here. - nurse walking by our room

*Why do people keep leaving the waiting room before they are seen??  -receptionist.  This CAN'T be a good sign.  How long were they waiting.  Oh I get it.  TWO HOURS

*Hold on she is stuck.  -- patient in the waiting room.  They called his child back and he was ON THE FLOOR UNDER A CHAIR EATING THE CHAIR AND STUCK.. How many things are wrong with that????

and my favorite... this was while we were waiting on the doctor today.  They left my door open:
*BEND OVER THE TABLE IT'S TIME FOR YOUR PROSTATE EXAM.  It's bad enough if you are the PATIENT, but the Patient in the next room??  TRAUMATIZING!!!

Fabulous story. Although, I'm sad to say I couldn't see the pictures you used to narrarate...I'm sure that would have made it even better. At least Noah helped you to discover the girls' illnesses :) Hope everyone is feeling better now. Love you!
