Christmas Day '09

Christmas Day, Chris and I were pretty much up ALL night. Poor Kara kept screaming. This is very unlike her. Unlike her brother and sister, she is a GREAT sleeper. We never get up in the middle of the night with her. So, we thought that maybe she was sick... but no fever, no sign of a runny nose, cough.. nothing. Chris laid with her for an hour, got her back to sleep and put her back in her crib. No sooner was he back in our bed, and she started screaming. I got up and put a heavy quilt on her finally (this was around 4, I guess..) thinking maybe she was just cold. She slept that way until the kids got up in the morning (around 7). As soon as she woke up she started screaming again, and we couldn't figure out was wrong until she went for a milk cup and couldn't move her arm. That would explain screaming all Christmas Eve and all night.. and now on to the morning--she had popped her shoulder out of socket... lovely... Luckily Noah had done this twice when he was her age, so no need for the ER, I just popped it back in place.. three clicks and done! She was sore the rest of the day and screamed and cried a lot, but she is fine now!

Anyways, the kiddos woke up in the morning to find that Santa had brought (the main gifts anyway...) a DS for Noah (a nintendo type handheld game thing)

and a Leapster for Kate (a preschool version of a handheld game thingy...).

Kara got a tea set and some other things.. but really didn't care. She just wanted to drink her milk without pain! :) After breakfast, we packed up and headed to Chris's parents house where we spent the day. Of course, the kids got spoiled there (and don't forget that they added money to the swing set!) and so did we! My favorite gift was that they had bought tickets for Chris and me to go see THE SOUND OF MUSIC! Anyone who knows me, knows that this is my "favorite thing"! Chris was "pleased" that it was part of his Christmas, too! haha... no, I think he enjoyed himself! They also got me a gift card to Hobby Lobby... LOVE IT!! Chris got some gift cards, too.. Overall, great Christmas! We hung out over there and played games with all the family (grandparents came in the afternoon for dessert). Deke and I had our annual game competition and gma, too! That lady is a COMPETITOR!!! We are ALL sore winners and losers! (all in fun.... I think!). The big news of the day was when Michelle (aunt shelly) and Deke (uncle deke) announced they were having a boy!!! We are so excited that another boy will be joining the family! Poor Noah was getting lonely! We can't wait to hold our new nephew!!

We had so much fun over there and really enjoy playing games and hanging out! Thanks to everyone for making it such a fun Christmas! We love you all!
