This was in a teepee they had set up in the African exhibit
We had a blast! Sure, there was a mini-hurricane that hit and we had to find shelter in the eating place (Oh, darn... must buy some 8.00 chicken nuggets... you know, sometimes nothing tastes better than overpriced chicken nuggets, and mushy fries.. and of course the ranch to dip it in that I had to pay extra for!!). After the storm passed, we got to see the new African exhibit.
Way cool. There was a baby giraffe that was born a week ago.. so cute! We also saw two baby elephants, precious! And what is a visit to the childrens zoo without riding a carousel?
By far, my kids favorite part was crawling through the fish tunnel (like 1000 times..),
you can see Addison on the Right (above pic.) making her way through the tunnel
her poor mama was crawling through the tunnel with her -- what a mom!
(although, Kara's favorite part might have been eating Addison's snacks.. even though mommy packed her some, apparently Addison's tasted better... ah well). To top off the visit we went on the train around Hermann Park. I have to admit that it was a pretty long and relaxing train ride. Albeit cold. Little did I know that the rain brought in a "cool" front (for us Texans anyway), and my kids were dressed for August weather. Oh well, turning purple never hurt anyone... or did it???
the train ride where Kate turned purple.. seriously..
Today, we just hung around the house and made a trip to Target to pick up a few things. We played outside and now the kids are watching a movie. DANG--as SOON as I typed that I heard footsteps upstairs.. How do they KNOW I'm complimenting them?? Anyways, they got a long great today.
Tomorrow we have plans to go to the park with our other aunt, Aunt Shelly, and Cousin Dylan! Hopefully I can keep Spring Break updated. Maybe this will help get me back in the swing of life... or at least bloggin...
