Day 3

Today was another enjoyable day at the Surface Household. I'm beginning to think I have entered the twilight zone. Have my kids REALLY learned to get along (for the most part, anyway), or am I just on another planet? Seriously, this has been the best Spring Break we have had... so far. I guess a lot of it is the kids are getting older. As much as I miss my sweet babies, I have to admit, it's so NICE to have them a little older. For example, Waffles needed outside today.. so I simply said, "kate, can ya let waffs out??" and she got up and did it. Kara needed something out of the fridge, and thus I said, "Noah can you go get it for Kara??" .. and he kindly obliged. The floors needed vacuuming.. and voila, the kids BEGGED to vacuum. Yes, folks, I have my own mini-slaves. YES!!!! I'm so excited! I think after 7 years of child-rearing, I'm finally entering the "mommy doesn't have to get up to do EVERY. SINGLE. THING. stage, and I'm LOVING. IT. (this does not mean in any way, shape, or form, that I condone old fashioned slavery, but with your own kids... I think this type of "slavery" is allowed-- this has been your Public Service Announcement).
So, what did day three bring to our house? We met up with Michelle (sis-in-law) and my nephew, Dylan, at the park. I haven't seen my little Dyl pickle in a LONG time and it was OVERDUE!!! He is so stinkin' cute, if I do say so myself. But, like the TERRIBLE aunt I am.. I FORGOT MY CAMERA!!! ugh! I'm SO MAD at myself!! Michelle took pictures, so maybe one day I will have some to post, but she is about as good as I am at getting pictures to others (this is a joke, people, I'm not bashing my sis-in-law... we love her!). Anyways, the kids had a BLAST, and had our other cousin Ronnie there with us as well. The kids taught Dylan how to swing, slide, and of course, get sand EVERYWHERE. Kara had sand coming out of her ears... seriously. Then we went to McD's and taught Dylan how you eat "healthy". So fun. I enjoyed our afternoon with them!!
After that, Noah had a boyscout outing to go to. He was able to go to our local abc news station. He loved it. They let him stand in front of the infamous "green screen" for the weather, and sit at the news desk. He had such a smile on his face, and was DETERMINED he was on the news tonight (shh... don't burst his bubble, but he wasn't..) I will leave you with some pics from his "news debut"!
