day 5

Well, Spring Break is coming to an end and I have to say that I am WORN. OUT. Exhaustion has set in and I am D.O.N.E. Thank goodness for school. Seriously. Yes, it's hard that first day of Kindergarten when you drop them off at their little desk for the first time, see their sweet innocent faces that look like they are about to burst in to tears because you are leaving them with this stranger called a "teacher"; but how quickly I got over that one! We have had a GREAT Spring Break, and the kids were great, actually, but I'm ready to put him back in the hands of the Public School System. It's time. For both of us, it's time. It's also time for Kate to start back MDO, and ballet. Some mommy I am, huh!? Nah, I love spending time with them, but I appreciate the time we have together so much MORE when it's not 24/7.. Now, on to day #5 of Spring Break. We ended up going to the Rodeo! Memaw and PawPaw have had this tradition with the grandkids for a couple of years now, but they were able to go on an AWESOME cruise with their church, so a friend of mine and her kids met us up at the Rodeo. I have known Monica for 9 years now. We actually met at mine and Chris's wedding. Her husband was one of Chris's friends in college. We got together when we were all newlyweds without kids. Now we don't get together that much. We got together last summer, and before that, it must have been 3 years since our last gathering.. PATHETIC! Anyways, between both of us, we now have 6 kids. So we gathered our 6 kids, a double stroller, and a wagon, and headed out. The kids got to go to the petting zoo (I think that was Kara's favorite),

Kara petting a week old baby goat.. so cute!

see baby chicks hatch (I think that was MY favorite),

Baby chick that JUST had hatched

pretend they were farmers for a day,

At the "Kid-Farm" after they planted their seeds
and eat food that caused us to take out a second mortgage on our house. All-in-all it was a fun day for us all. Monica's oldest, Emma, just might have caught Noah's eye. I think he has a slight crush on her because by the end of our time with them, he was doing ANYTHING to make that girl laugh!! It was too cute! Thanks guys for meeting us halfway and inviting us to the RODEO!!
Baby Evan (just turned 1!) - he was SO sweet, and SO good!
