My "Kinder-gator"

Last night, we had meet the teacher at Gilmore. My in-laws came over so it could just be Chris, Noah, and me. Up to this point Noah was so excited about Kinder. Last week Chris and I had gone to an orientation, met his teacher, and she even had "homework" for the kids to finish for the first day of school. She told us the first day of school, the kids could bring a stuffed animal, etc. Noah was so excited. We told him all about his classroom and teacher, and he was giddy excited. He loved the fact that they are the "gilmore Gators" and the teachers call them "Kinder Gators"!! Fast forward to last night. The excitement was gone. finished. not to come back. We practically had to drag him out of the car (and this was just meet the teacher!!). We finally got the class and it was just us. The other kids had already come (it was a come and go thing) so Noah was by himself. I was so excited about this because I thought he could have some one-on-one time with the teacher, and she would really get to "know" (as much as you can in 10 minutes) Noah. Uh. NOPE. seriously. Noah stuck his nose in Chris's....um... "back-end" if you will and would not remove his face from Chris's butt the entire time. She kept talking to him and I don't think she saw his face one time the entire time we were there. I know he is shy, but COME ON at least make some freakin' eye contact!!
So, now comes today. We had to drag him out of bed (seriously, he is acting like he is in High School!! Which I know soon he will be, because 0-5 went so fast, so I'm sure he will be in High school before I know it... anyways..) make him eat breakfast, threaten him with his life to take a first day of school picture. I actually stooped to a "mommy-low" and told him if he didn't get his picture taken now, I would do it in his classroom and it would probably embarrass him. (yes, I know it's bad, but c'mon, we all know he will more than likely be on meds one day... so might was well start him young...) So, with that, we agreed to smile and take the freakin' picture... amazing what a little threat will do!
We got there and dropped him off. He sat at his little table with the four other kids looking so big! My baby is growing up. And fast! He gave me a half smile when I left.. so that's better than tears!! I can't believe he is in Kinder. Time seriously goes by fast. I know that he will no longer say "kaplice officers" instead of "police", and I'm sure he will learn that it's not "If your happy and your Noah", and probably learn that "old MacDonalds" is just a song, and it's not the place you eat. I'm sad about these last little things he still has that makes me feel like he is still my baby.. because I know soon he will know the correct wordings. But I won't miss the constant fighting between him and Kate. Although, Kara is getting older now, so I know I will have to referee those two! But, for now, I'm enjoying Kate being in MDO (Today was HER first day.. more on that later) and Kara taking a nap!! OH. HAPPY. DAY!!! I'm wondering if a Stay-at-home mom invented public school... she took the craziness for 5 years and then decided.. 'nough of that.. you are going somewhere! Must get ready to pick up Kate.... Hopefully they both had great days! Pictures to come!
